Art shouldn’t be judged by a scale, and the ability of those artists not judged.
I’ve been writing since the 3rd Grade, so I would hope that I’ve learned my craft/discipline. What I don’t appreciate is when people or other people claim to be “the best.” Especially in writing.
If you’re traveling somewhere do you want to be looking at a vast area of nothingness for long periods of time? Or do you want to see a landscape rich in color and terrain? It’s the same in writing.
All of this to say that the experiences of the Millenial Generation are so unbelievably vast that it would be difficult to condense the experiences into one work. Perhaps our generational novel wouldn’t be one novel but several.
What I call the curse of a writer, is really the weight of that metaphorical albatross, that psychological burden that feels like a curse.
